Alternator: Service and Repair
GENERATOR
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Release the accessory drive belt tension and remove the drive belt from the generator pulley.
3. CAUTION: When installing the generator, be sure to hand-start the generator battery positive cable nut to prevent cross-threading.
Disconnect the generator wire harness.

Disconnect the harness retainer from the generator bracket stud.

Remove the nut and disconnect the battery positive cable.
3
Disconnect the two electrical connectors and position the wire harness aside.
4. Remove the generator bracket bolt.
5. Remove the lower bolts and the generator.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
