Shackle: Service and Repair

Removal 

1. NOTE:  Both the left side and right side spring shackles are removed and installed the same way. Only the left side is shown.

Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
3. Place a suitable jack under the front drive axle housing.

4. Remove the shock.

Remove the nut and bolt.

Remove the shock from the front spring cap.

5. Remove the nut and bolt.

6. Remove the spring shackle from the leaf spring.

Lower the jack until the nut and bolt can be removed.

Remove the nut, bolt and the spring shackle.
