This article supersedes TSB 07-16-3 to update the Part List and add a production fix date.
ISSUE
Some 2008 F-Super Duty F-450 wide frame vehicles equipped with a pickup box and built on or before 1/7/2008 with a Dana 5110 axle may exhibit an
axle whine noise between 50-60 MPH (80-97 Km/h). Most noticeable at 58 MPH (93 Km/h) under load during a floating condition with a tip out then tip
in on acceleration.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Replace the driveshaft with revised service part per application. Refer to the 2008 F-Super Duty Workshop Manual, Section 205-01, for driveshaft
removal and installation procedures.
NOTE
THE REPLACEMENT DRIVESHAFT WILL HAVE TWO (2) DAMPERS ON IT. ONE WILL BE POSITIONED AT THE MIDDLE OF THE
SLIP YOKE AND THE SECOND ONE WILL BE ON THE DRIVESHAFT TUBE BY THE REAR AXLE U-JOINT.
