F 550 2WD Super Duty V10-6.8L (2009)
Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. If equipped, remove the transmission filler tube.
3. Remove the starter.
4. Remove the RH inner fenderwell.
5. Remove the 4 exhaust Y-pipe flange nuts.
6. Remove the 2 bolts and the exhaust manifold heat shield.
7. Remove the 10 nuts and the exhaust manifold.
8. Inspect the exhaust manifold.
9. NOTICE: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These tools
cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths. Use a plastic scraping tool to remove all traces of old sealant. Failure to follow this
procedure may cause future oil leakage.
NOTE: Clean the sealing surfaces with Motorcraft metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging.
