Remove and discard the reverse clutch-to-case snap ring.
Forward Geartrain Assembly Service
NOTE:
This Forward Geartrain Assembly Service procedure has been developed to coincide specifically with replacing the reverse clutch-to-case snap ring
when there is no damage to the case.
If a complete overhaul is required, refer instead to Section 307-01 of the 2005 F-Super Duty/Excursion Workshop Manual for repair instructions.
1.
Remove the center support bearing assembly and the No. 6 thrust bearing from the forward clutch/direct clutch assembly.
2.
Remove the Special Tools Coast Clutch Fixture Handle 307-384 and Coast Clutch Fixture Body 307-385. See Figure 31.
3.
Remove the intermediate clutch plates and the pressure plate. See Figure 32.
