Test F: The Supplemental Heater Control Module Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool
PINPOINT TEST F: THE SUPPLEMENTAL HEATER CONTROL MODULE DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE SCAN TOOL
Normal Operation
The supplemental heater control module is optional equipment on diesel engine vehicles only. The supplemental heater control module communicates
with the scan tool through the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN). Circuits VDB04 (WH/BU) (HS-CAN +) and VDB05 (WH) (HS-CAN -)
provide the HS-CAN network connection to the supplemental heater control module. The supplemental heater control module shares the HS-CAN
network with the PCM, ABS module, instrument cluster, trailer brake control (TBC) module (if equipped), restraints control module (RCM), variable
geometry turbocharger (VGT) actuator (diesel engine only) and the transmission control module (TCM) (diesel engine only, if equipped). Voltage for
the supplemental heater control module is provided by circuit CVP37 (WH) and circuit GD108 (BK/VT) provides ground.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
