Steering Damper: Service and Repair
Steering Linkage Damper - F-250 and F-350 Four Wheel Drive (4WD), F-450, F-550
Removal and Installation
1. Place the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position.
2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
3. Remove the steering linkage damper-to-frame bracket bolt and nut.

To install, tighten the bolt to 103 Nm (76 ft. lbs.).
4. Remove the steering linkage damper-to-drag link nut and remove the steering linkage damper.

To install, tighten the nut to 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.).
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
