2. Using a suitable suction device, drain the power steering fluid reservoir.

Vehicles with 6.4L engine

3. Remove the fender splash shield.

4. Disconnect and position aside the ABS module electrical connector.

All vehicles

5. Disconnect the steering gear shield from the line fitting and position the shield up on the lower steering column shaft.

6. Disconnect the return hose-to-steering gear fitting.

To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).

7. Unclip the steering gear-to-fluid cooler return hose from the 2 steering gear-to-fluid cooler return hose retainers.

Vehicles with 6.4L engine

8. Unclip the steering gear-to-fluid cooler return hose retainer from the fuel air charge cooler bracket.

9. Remove the left side fog lamp and bracket assembly.

All vehicles

10. Release the steering gear-to-fluid cooler return hose clamp and remove the steering gear-to-fluid cooler return hose.

11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

12. Fill the power steering system.
