Evaporator Core: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
NOTE: If an A/C evaporator core leak is suspected, the A/C evaporator core must be leak tested before it is removed from the vehicle. Refer to
Heating and Air Conditioning for the leak test procedure. See: Testing and Inspection
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the suction accumulator/drier. Refer to Accumulator, Air Conditioning. See: Accumulator HVAC/Service and Repair
3. Remove the nuts and reposition the vapor management valve and bracket.
4. Disconnect the condenser to evaporator tube from the A/C evaporator core. Refer to A/C Coupler Coupling Disconnect and Connect general
procedure in Heating and Air Conditioning. See: Coupler HVAC/Service and Repair
5. Remove the screws and remove the evaporator core housing support bracket.
