29. Insert a screwdriver from the trunnion end of the housing and carefully push the seal and the spacer washer out of the other end of the housing
without damaging the sealing area or the spacer washer and discard the seal.
30. Inspect the roller bearing in the housing for brinelling or spalling and inspect the retaining ring for damage.

If replacement of either part is required, refer to: Steering Gear Housing Roller Bearing or Retaining Ring Replacement - Motorhome. If not,
proceed to Step 31.
31. Inspect the following for damage; for additional information, refer to: Gear Inspection - Cleaning and Inspection, Motorhome.

Assembly
NOTE: The Kent-Moore tools listed below are used in this procedure. The tools are available from Kent-Moore Tool Division, 29784 Little Mack,
Roseville, MI 48066. The Complete Tool Kit (J37612) does not include Bearing and Seal Tool (J37071) or the Universal Tool Handle (J8092).
Bearing and Seal Tool J37071.
1. Install a new dirt seal into the trunnion end of the sector shaft bore of the housing.

Make sure the seal is installed against the bearing and the lip of the seal faces outward.
