UNIQUE STEERING GEAR/PITMAN ARM ASSEMBLY

FORD:
2008 F-450, F-550

ISSUE
Some 2008 F-Super Duty 450/550 vehicles built between 4/14/2008 and 6/2/2008 may have a unique steering gear/pitman arm assembly installed.

ACTION
When replacing the steering gear on units built in this time frame the steering gear and pitman arm need to be replaced as a pair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 211-03 for part replacement procedure(s). If replacing the pitman arm only a unique pitman arm is required.
When replacing the steering gear use steering gear 8C3Z-3504-B and pitman arm 8C3Z-3590-E. If replacing the pitman arm only use pitman arm
8C3Z-3590-F. (Figure 1)
