Stabilizer Bushing: Service and Repair

STABILIZER BAR INSULATOR

1. Raise vehicle and place jack stands under lower control arms.
2. Disconnect stabilizer bar from links, then remove stabilizer insulator retaining clamps and remove stabilizer.
3. To remove insulator, cut insulators and plastic sleeves from stabilizer bar. Before installing new insulators, coat the necessary parts of the

stabilizer with grease, then install the insulators and sleeves.

4. Reverse procedure to install stabilizer bar. Install new stabilizer link bolts with heads facing down and torque to 6-12 ft lb. Using new bolts, install

stabilizer insulator retaining clamps and torque to 20 to 25 ft lb
