CLUTCH - PEDAL FREE PLAY ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE - SHOP MANUAL CORRECTION

ISSUE:
The clutch pedal freeplay adjustment procedure as outlined in the Festiva Shop Manual, Section 16-02-5 is incorrect. The amount of
acceptable pedal travel is greater than what is stated in the Shop Manual.
ACTION:
If service is required, refer to the following service procedure that has the revised free pedal travel specifications.

Pedal Freeplay
1.
Carefully move the clutch pedal back and forth while measuring the amount of travel. Refer to Figure 3.
If clutch pedal freeplay is 9 to 15 mm (0.35 to 0.59 inch), it is within specification.
If clutch pedal freeplay is not within 9 to 15 mm (0.35 to 0.59 inch), proceed to the next step.

While pulling back on the transaxle release lever, measure the clearance between the lever and the cable pin.
