Wiper Motor: Service and Repair
FRONT UNIT
1.
Disconnect electrical connector, then remove wiper motor to dash panel attaching bolts.
2.
Remove mounting plate attaching screws and pull plate away from dash panel.
3.
Using suitable tool, pry linkage pivot from motor output arm, then remove wiper motor from vehicle.
4.
Reverse procedure to install, ensuring ground wire is securely fastened to left upper attaching bolt of motor.
REAR UNIT
1.
Lift cover, then remove wiper arm attaching nut and the wiper arm.
2.
Pull off shaft seal and remove outer bushing attaching nut and outer bushing.
3.
Using suitable tool, pry trim panel off inner portion of liftgate.
4.
Peel back wire harness electrical tape, then disconnect wiper motor electrical connector.
5.
Remove wiper motor to liftgate attaching bolts, then the wiper motor.
6.
Check inner and outer bushings and shaft O-ring for damage, and replace parts as necessary.
7.
Reverse procedure to install. Cycle wiper motor several times to ensure motor is in Park position before installing wiper arm. When properly
installed, tip of wiper blade should be approximately 3 inches from edge of liftgate window seal.
