ISSUE:
No start, hard start or poor engine performance may be caused by water entering through the timing belt cover and freezing the timing belt.
This causes the timing belt to jump sprocket teeth resulting in improper spark and cam timing.
ACTION:
Install a new timing belt, new design lower timing belt cover gasket, and a new oil pan. Apply silicone gasket and sealant on the oil and
water pumps to prevent water from entering into the timing belt area. Refer to the following service procedure for details.
