Throttle Position Sensor: Description and Operation

The throttle position (TP) sensor, Fig. 12, detects throttle position angle, the sensor consists of two switches that sense either an idle position signal or
a wide open throttle signal. These two switches are called the idle (IDL) switch and the wide open throttle (WOT) switch. The information that TP
sensor inputs to the ECA is used to affect air/fuel ratio, fuel injection timing, A/C clutch operation, idle speed and purge flow. The TP sensor is located
directly above the throttle body assembly.
