Clutch Disc: Service and Repair
REMOVAL and INSTALLATION
1. Remove transaxle.
2. If pressure plate will be reused, scribe alignment marks on pressure plate and flywheel to aid installation.
3. Prevent flywheel from turning using suitable tool, then loosen pressure plate attaching bolts one turn at a time until all spring tension is released.

4. Remove attaching bolts, pressure plate and clutch disc.
5. If new clutch disc is being installed, sand friction surfaces of pressure plate and flywheel with medium grit emery cloth to break glaze on surface.
After sanding is completed, remove grit with an alcohol soaked shop towel.
6. Install clutch disc with damper springs facing away from flywheel, then install pressure plate and attaching bolts.
7. Install suitable clutch alignment tool, then torque attaching bolts evenly to 17 ft lbs. Remove tool.
8. Re-install transaxle.
