Removal
CAUTION: Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect performance of vital components and systems and their failure can result in
major service expense. A new part with the same part number, or an equivalent part, must be installed if installation is necessary. Do not use a new
part of lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified to make sure of correct retention of these parts.
NOTE: The forward and rearward upper arm bushings are removed and installed as a pair.
All vehicles
1. Remove the rear subframe.
2. Place a suitable support under the wheel knuckle.
3. Remove and discard the stabilizer bar link-to-upper arm nut and separate the link from the upper arm.
4. Remove and discard the upper arm-to-subframe bolts.
2WD vehicles
5. Remove and discard the upper arm-to-knuckle bolt and separate the upper arm from the wheel knuckle.
AWD vehicles
6. Remove and discard the wheel knuckle ball joint nut.
7. Using the special tools, separate the wheel knuckle from the upper arm.
