10. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes at the transaxle.

To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
11. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket. Remove the fluid cooler tubes.

To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
12. Remove the fluid fill plug.

To install, tighten to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.).
13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Fill the transaxle with Motorcraft Premium Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-8-QAW meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C924-A to the
specified level.

Prior to adding any transmission fluid, make sure that the vehicle is on a level surface.

Check the fluid level to determine how much fluid will need to be added.
^
Using a diagnostic tool, monitor the fluid temperature. Make sure that the fluid temperature is within specification.
^
The fluid level should be within the normal operating range on the fluid level indicator.
