1. WARNING:

The evaporative emission system contains fuel vapor and condensed fuel vapor. Although not present in large quantities, it still
presents the danger of explosion or fire. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery to minimize the possibility of an
electrical spark occurring, possibly causing a fire or explosion if fuel vapor or fuel liquid is present in the area. Failure to follow these
instructions may result in personal injury.

Do not carry personal electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers or audio equipment of any type when working on or near any
fuel-related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions can
result in personal injury.

Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly
flammable liquids are always present and may be ignited, resulting in possible personal injury. Failure to follow these instructions
may result in personal injury.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent solenoid electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the EVAP vapor tube quick connect fitting.
5. Disconnect the front fuel vapor tube from the dust box.
6. Remove the EVAP canister retaining nuts (2 required).

To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

7. Remove the EVAP canister retaining bolts (2 required).

To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

8. Release the wire harness pushpin retainers (3 required).
9. Remove the EVAP canister.

10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
