Parking Brake Control

Removal and Installation

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. Release the tension on the parking brake cable. For additional information, refer to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release  See: Parking Brake

Cable/Service and Repair/Procedures.

3. Remove the Smart Junction Box (SJB) and bracket.

4. Remove the scuff plate trim panel and the lower cowl side trim panel.

5. Disconnect the parking brake switch electrical connector.

6. Remove the parking brake control nut.

To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

7. Remove the 2 parking brake control bolts.

To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

8. Position the carpet aside and position the cable conduit grommet through the floor.

9. Remove the parking brake control and front cable assembly.

10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Inspect the parking brake system for correct operation.
