Normal Operation
The trailer tow connector receives ground through circuit RAT08 (WH) for all of the trailer lamps.
All of the trailer tow lamp relays share the same power supply and ground from circuits SBB30 (BN/RD) and GD120 (BK/GN).
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
-
Fuse
-
Wiring, terminals or connectors
-
Trailer tow connector
-
Trailer
PINPOINT TEST Y: THE TRAILER LAMPS ARE INOPERATIVE - ALL
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the
connector.
NOTE: Before beginning diagnostics, visually inspect the trailer tow connector mounted on the bumper for signs of corrosion or damage. Repair or
install a new trailer tow connector as required.
NOTE: Failure to disconnect the battery when instructed will result in false resistance readings. Refer to Battery.

Y1 CHECK THE TRAILER TOW RELAYS VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
-
Measure the voltage between the auxiliary relay box fuse 2 (15A), circuit SBB30 (BN/RD), input side and ground.
-
Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
GO to Y2.
No
VERIFY the Battery Junction Box (BJB) fuse 30 (40A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR circuit SBB30 (BN/RD) for an open. TEST the system for normal
operation. If not OK, REFER to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short.

Y2 CHECK THE TRAILER TOW RELAYS GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
-
Disconnect: Negative Battery Cable.
