INTERMITTENT IDLE SPEED DROPS BELOW SPECIFICATION

ISSUE
Some 2009 Flex and MKS vehicles may experience idle speed that drops below specification intermittently with no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). If
normal Powertrain Controls/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) diagnostics does not identify the concern, it may be due to the Powertrain Control Module
(PCM) calibration. There is a new calibration available that will improve idle speed control.
ACTION
Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) release 63.12 and higher or 64.01 and higher. This new
calibration is not included in the VCM 2009.11 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
