FRONT SEAT CUSHION TRIM COVER DETACHED

This article supersedes TSB(s) 08-20-04 to add a production fix date.
ISSUE
Some 2008-2009 Focus vehicles built before 1/23/2009 may exhibit the front seat cushion trim cover loose along the front of the seat. This may be due
to the J-retainer on the front of the trim cover becoming detached from the seat pan.
ACTION
Follow the service procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Lift the loose trim cover and foam pad to access the front of the metal cushion pan. Locate the four (4) tabs along the front of the pan. (Figure 1)
2. Using a flathead screwdriver or similar tool, push each barb rearward approximately 1/8"-7/32" (3-6 mm) to sufficiently engage trim cover. (Figure
1)
3. Lower foam pad into position. Pull trim cover front flap down and engage trim retainer to cushion pan barbs.
