SQUEAK NOISE WHEN APPLYING AND/OR RELEASING CLUTCH PEDAL
FORD:
2008-2010 Focus
This article supersedes TSB 8-23-15 to update the vehicle model years.
ISSUE
Some 2008-2010 Focus vehicles equipped with a manual transmission may exhibit a squeaking noise when depressing and/or releasing the clutch pedal.
This may be due to the contact between the clutch pedal return spring and the clutch pedal bracket.
ACTION
Follow the service procedure to correct the concern.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Apply Krytox(R) grease (164-R4906) to the clutch pedal return spring where the spring is contacting the bracket. Replacement of the clutch pedal
assembly is not necessary to correct the noise. Krytox(R) grease is included in the Rotunda Squeak and Rattle Kit (164-R4900) and can be ordered
separately as needed.
