Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair
Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Valve - 3-Door/5-Door
REMOVAL
WARNING: DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR
ANY FUEL RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND CAN IGNITE. FAILURE
TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect the evaporative emission canister purge valve electrical connector.
3. Disconnect the control vacuum line from the evaporative emission canister purge valve.
4. Disconnect the evaporative emission return tube and the evaporative emission canister purge outlet tube from the evaporative emission canister
purge valve.
