5. NOTE: Wagon shown, 3-door, 4-door and 5-door similar.
Detach the upper arms from the wheel knuckles.
6. NOTE: Make a note of the position of the upper arms to aid installation.

Remove the upper arms.

7. CAUTION: Support the wheel knuckle to prevent damage.
Using a suitable cable tie, support the wheel knuckle.
All vehicles
8. Lower and remove the transmission jack.
9. NOTE: Support the exhaust system with a suitable axle stand.
Detach the exhaust system from the crossmember exhaust hanger insulator.

Lower the exhaust system to give sufficient clearance from the crossmember.
