Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE:  2.3L engine shown, 2.0L engines similar.

All vehicles

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.

Loosen the outlet pipe retaining clamps.

Release the emission breather tube from the outlet pipe.

^

Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.

Vehicles with 2.3L engine

3. Disconnect the fuel injector wiring harness electrical connector.

All vehicles

4. Remove the Throttle Position (TP) sensor.

Disconnect the TP sensor electrical connector.

Remove the TP sensor retaining screws.

Remove the TP sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
