Front Muffler

Removal

All Vehicles
1. NOTE:  The exhaust system is of one piece construction for production, and two or three piece construction for service exhaust systems. 

It is necessary to cut the production exhaust system to enable the service section to be fitted. Before cutting any part of the exhaust system, make
sure to check the position of the cut is correct in comparison to the service sections to be installed.

2. Raise and support the vehicle. 

3. CAUTION: Excessive bending of the flexible pipe may cause damage resulting in failure.

Support the flexible pipe with a support wrap or suitable splint.

Vehicles with 1.8L, 2.0L and diesel engine

4. Remove the flange nuts.

Discard the gasket (1.8L and 2.0L only) and nuts.

5. Detach the exhaust system front hanger insulators.

All Vehicles
6. Cut the exhaust system.
