3. Install the muffler.

Check the hanger insulator for damage and fatigue. Install new hangers as required.

When installing a hanger insulator, use Lubricant meeting Ford specification.
4. Attach the muffler front hanger insulator.

Check the hanger insulator for damage and fatigue. Install new hangers as required.

When installing a hanger insulator, use Lubricant meeting Ford specification.
5. Tighten the clamp nuts.

Two (1.8L, 2.0L and diesel) or four (1.4L and 1.6L) clamps for service.
Vehicles with 1.8L, 2.0L and diesel engine
6. Install the flange nuts.

Use a new gasket (1.8L and 2.0L only) and nuts.

Coat the studs with Anti-seize grease meeting Ford specification.
