ISSUE
Some vehicles may exhibit a panel/defrost door "fluttering" noise when the climate control system is in full cool, blower on high speed, and 1 to 2 clicks
above panel/floor mode.

ACTION
Verify that all washers are in place on the banana linkage, install missing washers on the banana linkage, and/or tighten the mounting screw 1/4 - 1/2
turn. This should reduce the possibility of noise. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Locate the banana linkage on the plenum which is located under the driver side instrument panel on the plenum assembly. The banana linkage
connects the gear box cam to the panel/defrost door crank on the air handling case (plenum).

2.

Inspect the banana linkage and verify that all washers are in place and installed correctly. Two (2) black Washers (44711-S2) should be found
between the banana linkage and the door crank. One gold Washer (E830293-S72) should be located under the banana linkage mounting screw.
Install any missing washers (Figure 1).

3.

If all the washers are present and correctly installed, tighten the banana linkage mounting screw 1/4 - 1/2 turn until the flutter noise cannot be
detected.

4.

Verity concern is corrected.
