Prepare the new harness for installation by removing the rear defroster lead (green wire with the blue tracer). Carefully cut or remove enough tape
to remove the wire from the harness and de-pin it from the hard-shell connector. See Figure 4.

Install the new harness by first routing the lower half through the quarter panel grommet opening and down into the trunk area. Route the upper
half through the trunk lid grommet opening and up into position.

Connect the brake lamp, license plate lamp, trunk latch release connectors and harness retainers.

10.

Insert the rear defroster lead connector into the new hard-shell and engage the lock wedge. Secure the wire to the harness using electrical tape.

11.

Connect the new harness connector to the vehicle harness connector.

12.

Secure both grommets and harness retainers.

13.

Install the trunk lid trim pad and the left rear corner trim panel.

14.

Connect the battery negative cable and remove the memory saver.

15.

Check rear defroster, brake lights, license plate lights and trunk latch release for proper operation.
