Seat Belt Buckle: Service and Repair
SAFETY BELT BUCKLE AND PRETENSIONER
REMOVAL
1. Remove the front seal.
WARNING: WAIT AT LEAST ONE MINUTE AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD BEFORE
DISCONNECTING ANY SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS
WARNING COULD CAUSE PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT AND MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
2. Disconnect the 10-way under seat electrical connector.
3. Detach the pretensioner wiring harness from the underside of the seat.
CAUTION: Note the position and routing of the wiring harness to aid assembly. An incorrectly routed harness may lead to the wires becoming
damaged on the seat mechanism.
4. Remove the pyrotechnic safety belt pretensioner.
