Wheel Bearing: Testing and Inspection
Rear Wheel Bearing Inspection
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Position the dial Indicator gauge against the wheel rim.
3. Push and pull the wheel by hand in an axial direction and measure the end play.
4. If the end play exceeds specification, check and adjust the rear axle wheel hub retainer torque specification. If necessary, install new wheel hub
and bearing.
