There are two types of fuel tank available, a cylindrical and a ring tank. The ring tank is available in 3-door, 5-door and wagon bodystyles. The cylindrical tank is available in 5-door and wagon bodystyles.
Fuel Filter
The fuel filter comprises of a paper element sealed within a steel canister and is located behind the rear muffler heat shield.
Ring Fuel Tank
The ring fuel tank is fitted in the spare wheel compartment. The ring fuel tank can only be filled to 80% of its maximum 48 litres, to allow for expansion of the LPG. The whole assembly is contained beneath the luggage compartment protective floor covering.
Cylindrical Fuel Tank
The cylindrical fuel tank is fitted to the front of the luggage compartment and is secured by a steel mounting frame. Cylindrical fuel tanks can be filled to a 80% of their maximum 84 litres, to allow for expansion of the LPG.
Fuel Tank Level Sensor
The fuel tank level sensor is used to measure LPG fuel quantity. A low LPG level also causes an automatic change in fuelling from LPG to petrol.
