Information button

All the functions within the multifunction display can be called up in turn by pressing the INFO button. A chime will be heard from the central timer module (CTM).

Multifunction display

The multifunction display can display the following information to the driver:

  • Ambient temperature
  • Instantaneous fuel economy
  • Average fuel economy
  • Range to empty
  • Average speed

Ambient temperature

This function indicates the ambient temperature in degrees C or degrees F. There is an audible chime when the temperature falls to + 4°C or (40°F) and again at 0°C or (32°F) from the central timer module. This is to alert the driver to possible icy roads. The driver can change between degrees C and degrees F in temperature mode by pressing the select button.

Instantaneous fuel economy

This function indicates the instantaneous fuel consumption. The frequent sampling period is carried out within the powertrain control module and it reacts very quickly to any change in driving pattern. This may cause large variations in the display value under certain conditions.

Average fuel economy

This function indicates the average fuel consumption of the vehicle since the function was last reset. Press the reset button at any time to set to a default valve of 35 mpg.

Range to empty

This function indicates the approximate distance the vehicle will travel using the remaining fuel in the fuel tank. Changes in driving pattern may cause this figure to vary up or down. A short audible chime will be heard when the remaining distance is 80 km (50 miles), 40 km (25 miles), 20 km (12 miles), 0 km (0 miles).

Average speed

This function indicates the average vehicle speed calculated during the last 1000 km (600 miles). or since the last reset. Press the reset button at any time to set to zero.

Frost warning indicator

The frost warning indicator is controlled by a signal to the information message center from the ice warning sensor. When the ambient temperature falls to + 4°C or (40°F), the information message center illuminates the frost warning indicator.

Low level washer reservoir warning indicator

The low level washer reservoir warning indicator is controlled by a signal from the washer reservoir level sensor to the information message center The information message center activates the warning lamp when insufficient water is in the reservoir.
