Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the battery.
    For additional information, refer to Battery in this section.

  1. Detach the battery ground and positive cable retaining clips from the battery tray.

  1. Detach the starter motor solenoid wiring harness retaining clip from the battery tray.

  1. Detach the battery positive cable retaining clip from the battery tray.

  1. Detach the engine bay temperature sensor from the battery tray (if equipped).

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Remove the bolts in the sequence shown.
    Remove the battery tray.
    1. Remove the lower bolts.
    1. Remove the upper bolt.

Installation
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Do no tighten the battery retaining bolts at this stage.
    Install the battery tray battery retaining bolts.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
    Tighten the battery tray retaining bolts.
    1. Tighten the upper bolt.
    1. Tighten the lower bolts.

  1. Attach the engine bay temperature sensor to the battery tray (if equipped).

  1. Attach the battery positive cable retaining clip to the battery tray.

  1. Attach the starter motor solenoid wiring harness retaining clip to the battery tray.

  1. Attach the battery ground and positive cable retaining clips to the battery tray.
  1. Install the battery.
