Removal and Installation Removal All vehicles | -
Remove the antenna base. For additional information, refer to Antenna Base in this section. | | -
Remove the sun visor retaining clips. | Vehicles built up to 03/2000 | -
Remove the passenger assist handles. - Lever open the screw covers.
- Remove the retaining screws.
| Vehicles built 03/2000 onwards | -
Lever open the covers on the passenger assist handles. | | -
Using a suitable 6mm flat-bladed screwdriver remove the passenger assist handles. - Rotate the screwdriver 90 degrees to release the retaining clips.

Carefully detach the front edge of the headliner to allow access to the antenna cable. | | -
Detach the antenna cable from the clips (headliner shown removed for clarity). | | -
Detach the instrument panel lower panel. | | -
Disconnect the data link electrical connector. - Remove the instrument panel lower panel.

Carefully cut the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) material on the bulkhead (left-hand side of the steering column) to expose the antenna cable and retaining clips. | | -
Carefully cut the NVH material on the bulkhead (right-hand side of the steering column) to expose the antenna cable and retaining clips. | | -
Detach the wiring harness from the clips behind the cross-vehicle beam. - Access the clips through the instrument cluster opening.

Remove the audio unit. For additional information, refer to Section 415-01 Audio Unit. | | -
Detach the antenna cable from the clips behind the NVH material (left-hand side of the steering column). | | -
Detach the antenna cable from the clips behind the NVH material (right-hand side of the steering column). | | -
Attach a suitable draw cord to the antenna cable. | | -
Pull the antenna cable from behind the instrument panel to expose the suitable draw cord. | | -
Detach the suitable draw cable and remove the antenna cable. | Installation | -
To install, reverse the removal procedure. | |
