Removal and Installation

General Equipment
Audio unit removal tools

Removal
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the audio unit key code is available before disconnecting the audio unit electrical connectors and note the audio unit station presets.
    Using the audio unit removal tools, detach the audio unit.
    1. Insert the audio unit removal tools into the locating holes until the click into place and gently pull to the left and right of the unit to release the locking tangs.
    1. Slide the unit out of the instrument panel.

  1. Remove the audio unit.
    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.
    • Disconnect the antenna cable

Installation

All vehicles
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The audio unit wiring harness must not become trapped when installing the audio unit.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:The audio unit rear support must engage with the audio unit support bracket.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Vehicles with 9006 audio unit
  1. Enter the audio unit key code.
  1. PRESS and HOLD the audio unit preset buttons 3 and 6 to initiate the speaker test.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The audio unit is now in the EQ selection menu.
    PRESS and HOLD the DSP and MENU buttons on the audio unit for approximately two seconds.
  1. Using the audio unit rotary control knob, select the appropriate EQ from the list shown below.
    1. NO EQ - Default factory setting
    1. RHD3DCLO - Right hand drive 3 door cloth trim
    1. LHD3DCLO - Left hand drive 3 door cloth trim
    1. RHD5DCLO - Right hand drive 5 door cloth trim
    1. LHD5DCLO - Left hand drive 5 door cloth trim
    1. RHD3DLEA - Right hand drive 3 door leather trim
    1. LHD3DLEA - Left hand drive 3 door leather trim
    1. RHD5DLEA - Right hand drive 5 door leather trim
    1. LHD5DLEA - Left hand drive 5 door leather trim
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The speaker test will continue automatically after the EQ has been set. Check the operation of all the remaining speakers and subwoofer.
    PRESS and HOLD the SEEK DOWN button until the audio unit displays EQ SET.
  1. Switch the audio unit OFF. The audio unit is now programmed.
  1. Check the EQ has been successfully programmed, PRESS and HOLD the audio unit preset buttons 1 and 6. The audio unit will cycle through several screens until the EQ status is shown. If NO EQ is displayed the EQ has not been programmed, repeat Steps 3 - 7 to programme the EQ.
