5. Loosen the heat shield and push it backwards.

Unclip the shift and selector cables from the floor pan.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Remove the gearshift lever cover.
1. Unclip the cover or boot.
2. Twist off the gearshift lever knob. Take out the damping sleeves and compression spring.

Separate the connectors (number and configuration depend on equipment).
8. Remove the floor console.
9. Remove the rear footwell heating duct.
