CENTER CONSOLE ARM REST PIVOT LOOSE

ISSUE
Some 2000-2007 Focus vehicles equipped with a folding center arm rest may experience the center console arm rest coming loose at its pivot area. This
may be caused by the console pivot pin cap nut coming off. Replacement of the center console arm rest assembly is no longer necessary with the release
of this service kit.
ACTION
Replace the center console arm rest pivot pin and cap nut with the parts contained in the Hinge Pin Kit using the following procedure.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Position front seats to access armrest pivot area.
2.
Remove arm rest pivot trim cover caps and inspect pivot pin retaining nut for damage. If pin or nut is damaged, proceed to Step 3. If pin or nut is
not damaged, this TSB does not apply.
3.
Open arm rest cover and remove the three (3) hinge to body screws (Figure 1).
4.
Remove two (2) screws (one on each side). (Figure 2)
