Engine - 1.4L Duratec-16V (Sigma)/1.6L Duratec-16V (Sigma) - Cylinder Head Fusion 2002.75 (06/2002-)
Disassembly and Assembly of Subassemblies

Disassembly
  1. Disconnect the temperature and manifold absolute pressure (T-MAP) sensor electrical connector.

  1. Disconnect the throttle plate control motor (DC-ISC) electrical connector.

  1. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
  1. Remove the engine wiring harness.

  1. Remove the fuel supply manifold.
    • Discard the O-ring seals.

  1. Remove the intake manifold.
    • Discard the gaskets.

  1. Remove the engine rear lifting eye.

  1. Remove the coolant distribution housing and the ignition coil (EI).
    • Discard the gasket.

  1. Remove the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
    • Discard the O-ring seal.

Assembly
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:A new cylinder head is supplied without exhaust manifold studs.
    Install the exhaust manifold studs if necessary.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new camshaft position (CMP) O-ring seal.
    Install the CMP sensor.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new coolant distribution housing gasket.
    Install the coolant distribution housing and the ignition coil (EI).

  1. Install the engine rear lifting eye.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new intake manifold gaskets.
    Install the intake manifold.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new fuel supply manifold O-ring seals.
    Install the fuel supply manifold.
  1. Install the engine wiring harness.

  1. Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

  1. Connect the throttle plate control motor (DC-ISC) electrical connector.

  1. Connect the temperature and manifold absolute pressure (T-MAP) sensor electrical connector.
