Door Lock Cylinder Replacement - Fusion 200275 (062002-)

Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the front door window glass. For additional information, refer to Section  501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms.

  1. Disconnect the wiring harness at the A-pillar and push it into the door.

  1. Disconnect and detach the exterior mirror electrical connector from the door.

  1. Remove the front door latch retaining screws.

  1. Remove the front door lock cylinder cover retaining screw and remove the front door lock cylinder cover.

  1. Remove the exterior front door handle.

  1. Remove the exterior front door handle gasket.

  1. Remove the exterior front door handle reinforcement plate retaining nut.

  1. Push the front door lock cylinder and exterior front door handle reinforcement plate into the door by releasing the clips.

  1. Remove the front door inner panel retaining bolts.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:When lifting the front door inner panel away from the lower edge of the door panel, make sure the window regulator is clear of the door panel.
    Remove the front door inner panel.
    1. Rotate the front door inner panel counterclockwise and push it forwards.
    1. Lift the front door inner panel away from the lower edge of the door panel.
    1. Pull the front door inner panel downwards to release it.

  1. Remove the door lock cylinder.

Installation
  1. Install the door lock cylinder.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:It is necessary to install the wiring harness into the front door before installing the front door inner panel.
    Install the front door inner panel.
    1. Push the front door inner panel upwards to locate it.
    1. Lower the front door inner panel into the bottom of the door.
    1. Rotate the front door inner panel clockwise and push it rearwards.

  1. Pull the front door lock cylinder and exterior front door handle reinforcement plate into the door until the clips fully engage.

  1. Install the front door inner panel retaining bolts.

  1. Install the exterior front door handle reinforcement plate retaining nut.

  1. Install the exterior front door handle gasket.

  1. Push and hold the front door latch connecting rod downwards with a screwdriver to allow the exterior front door handle to install.

  1. Install the exterior front door handle.

  1. Install the front door lock cylinder cover and the front door lock cylinder cover retaining screw.

  1. Install the front door latch retaining screws.

  1. Connect and attach the exterior mirror electrical connector to the door.

  1. Install the wiring harness into the front door and connect the wiring harness at the A-pillar.
  1. Install the front door window glass. For additional information, refer to Section  501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms.
