This article supersedes TSB 07-11-7 to add a production fix date.
ISSUE
Some 2006-2007 Front Wheel Drive (FWD) Fusion, Milan, 2007 MKZ vehicles built on or before 8/7/2007 and 2006 Zephyr vehicles may exhibit a
customer concern of a rattle/vibration noise perceived to be coming from the console area or under the vehicle. The rattle/vibration noise is most
prominent during windy days where a crosswind is present and commonly occurs at approximate vehicle speeds between 50-70 MPH (80-116 Km/h).
ACTION
Follow the steps in the Service Procedure to resolve the customer concern.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 100-02.
2.
Inspect the heat shield wings positioned in the rear portion of the exhaust shield, above the muffler. (Figure 1)
