STEERING COLUMN OPENING TRIM PANEL 
REINFORCEMENT LOOSE

FORD:
2010 Fusion

LINCOLN:
2010 MKZ

MERCURY:
2010 Milan

ISSUE
Some 2010 Fusion, Milan and MKZ vehicles may exhibit a loose steering column opening trim panel reinforcement, behind the steering column opening
trim panel. This condition may be caused by an improperly fitting or loose steering column opening trim panel reinforcement.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the steering column opening trim panel. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 211-04.

2. Inspect steering column opening trim panel reinforcement bolts, J-clips and/or instrument panel damage at the reinforcement plate fastener. (Figure

1)

a. If steering column opening trim panel reinforcement is secure, do not continue with this procedure.

b. If the steering column opening trim panel reinforcement is loose, proceed to Step 3.

3. Install the Steering Column Opening Trim Panel Reinforcement Repair Kit. Refer to the instruction sheet provided in the kit.
