Oil Pump Screen and Pickup Tube

Removal

NOTICE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while
cleaning gasket surfaces that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

2. Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to Oil Pan  See: Oil Pan/Service and Repair/Oil Pan.

3. Remove the 2 bolts and the oil pump screen and pickup tube.

Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

Installation

1. NOTE: Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.

Install a new O-ring seal on the oil pump screen and pickup tube.

2. Install the oil pump screen and pickup tube and the 2 bolts.

Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

3. Install the oil pan. For additional information, refer to Oil Pan  See: Oil Pan/Service and Repair/Oil Pan.
