Oil pressure switch sealer (Loctite 243)WSK‐M2G349‐A7
Check the oil pressure

NOTE:

The oil pressure depends on various factors (engine speed, oil temperature, oil pump backlash etc.). Make the measurement with the oil at a temperature of 805C.

1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Remove the engine undershield (four bolts, two nuts) (right‐hand side shown).

3. Detach the right‐hand front axle driveshaft centre bearing bracket.

NOTE:

Use a 24 mm socket wrench, a universal joint and two long extensions.
4. Disconnect the multiplug and remove the oil pressure switch.

5. Screw in the connector and connect the oil pressure gauge.

6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Check the oil pressure

NOTE:

Maximum oil pressure: 6 bar at 6000 rev/min.
• Oil pressure at idle: 1,6 bar.
• Oil pressure at 2000 rev/min: 3,1 bar.
8. Raise the vehicle.
9. Remove the oil pressure gauge and the connector.

NOTE:

Apply sealer WSK‐M2G349‐A7 to the thread of the oil pressure switch.
10. Fit the oil pressure switch and connect the multiplug.

11. Fit the right‐hand front axle driveshaft centre bearing bracket.

12. Fit the engine undershield (four bolts, two nuts; right‐hand side shown).
13. Lower the vehicle.
14. Possible defect causes.
   Oil pressure too low over whole engine revolution range:
• Contamination of the oil intake strainer.
• Oil intake pipe loose or broken.
• Defective oil pump.
   Oil pressure too low in lower engine revolution range.
• Leaking pressure relief valve.
   Oil pressure too high at engine revolutions above 2000 rev/min:
• Pressure relief valve is stuck in the closed position (dirty).
