Removal and Installation
Remove
1. Remove the rear seat.
Up to '98 MY

2. Detach the seat base side cover (one screw and two clips.
'98 MY onwards

3. Detach the seat base side cover.
1. Remove the cover.
2. Remove the two Torx retaining screws.

4. Remove the seat base side cover.
• Slide the cover rearwards and up to disengage the two retaining clips.
5. Tilt the seat backrest forwards.

6. Remove the backrest.
   Remove the two Torx retaining screws each side.
7. Lower the child seat cushion.

8. Detach the child seat cushion cover.
1. Detach the zip tracks from the underside of the left and right‐hand side of the seat cover.
2. Undo the zip.

9. Detach the child seat belt buckle from the seat cover.

10. Detach the upper edge of the child seat cover.
   Detach the Velcro strip.

11. Remove the child seat cover.
1. Detach the seat belt webbing.
2. Remove the child seat cover.
• Detach the Velcro strips.

CAUTION:

Observe the routing and position of the cable ties for assembly.

12. Remove the cable ties.

13. Detach child seat base from the backrest pivot.

14. Detach the child seat backrest.
   Detach the left and right‐hand rubber from the track in the seat backrest.

15. Remove the child seat backrest.
1. Detach the seat belt webbing.
2. Remove the backrest.

16. Extract the child seat belt webbing to aid cover removal.

17. Detach the left and right‐hand lower anchors.
   Remove the Torx bolts.

18. Remove the seat backrest panel.
   Remove the four nuts.

19. Detach the child seat belt buckle from the backrest.
1. Carefully bend up each end of the wire rod.
2. Detach the wire rod from the retaining tangs.
3. Remove the wire rod from the seat belt webbing.
4. Detach the child seat belt buckle.

20. Remove the child seat cushion.
   Detach the left and right‐hand pivot from the seat backrest.

21. Remove the child seat belt buckle.
   Pull the webbing through the child seat.
Cover - Cushion (Child Seat) - Rear Seat - Remove (40 125 0)

NOTE:

Note the position of the pull down strap in the cushion.

22. Remove the child seat cushion.
   Roll the cover off the child seat cushion.
Cushion - Rear (Child Seat) - Remove (40 123 0)

NOTE:

Note the cut‐out in the seat foam for the pull down strap.

23. Remove the child seat base from the foam cushion.

24. Remove the child seat belt buckle.
   Pull the webbing through the child seat cushion.

25. Remove the six inlay plate retaining clips.

26. Remove the backrest inlay plate.
   Detach the upper edge from locating plug.
27. Remove the head restraint.

28. Remove the head restraint guide tube.
1. Use a small screw driver to release the retaining tang.
2. Pull out the head restraint guide tube.

29. Remove the child seat belt retractor release surround.

30. Detach the zip tracks from the underside of the left and right‐hand side of the seat cover.

NOTE:

Use a hog ring lightly formed to aid releasing the zip.

31. Undo the zip and roll back the seat cover.

32. Roll the seat cover up the backrest.

33. Detach the seat belt webbing from the seat cover.

34. Remove the seat backrest cover.

35. Remove the seat frame.
1. Remove the front and back seat team.
2. Remove the seat frame.

36. Remove the seat belt retractor retaining bolts.

37. Remove the retractor release button.

NOTE:

Note the mounting position at the base of the backrest.

38. Detach the backrest insert.

39. Remove the backrest insert.
1. Detach the seat belt webbing.
2. Remove the backrest insert.

40. Remove the child seat retractor cover.
   Release the two retaining clips each side.

CAUTION:

Observe the retractor locating tabs. These must fully locate, if not retractor function may be impaired.

41. Remove the child seat belt retractor.
Install

CAUTION:

Make sure the locating tabs on the retractor are fully located into the top of the seat frame. Incorrect location may impair retractor function.

42. Refit the components in the reverse order.

Cover - Cushion (Child Seat) - Rear Seat - Install (40 125 0)
