Removal and Installation
Remove

CAUTION:

Disconnect the battery negative lead.

1. Remove the fuse box lower cover.

2. Remove the fuse box front cover.
1. Pull the panel downwards to open.
2. Pull the panel outwards to disengage.

3. Remove the centre lower crash padding‐facia (two screws).

4. Remove the right‐hand lower crash padding‐facia (one clip).

5. Remove the right‐hand lower crash padding‐facia (five screws).
   Disconnect the multiplugs.
6. Remove the centre control panel (refer to Operation Number 38 456 0).
7. Remove the instrument cluster assembly (refer to Operation Number 33 214 0).
8. Remove the lower A‐pillar trims (refer to Operation Number 43 616 0).

9. Unclip the carpet retaining clips.

10. Unclamp the lower steering column.
1. Pull the locating tab.
2. Remove the clamp plate bolt.
3. Rotate the clamp plate to disengage.
   Unclamp the lower steering column.

11. Remove the steering column retaining bolt.

12. Move the steering column to one side.
1. Remove the two sheer bolts.
2. Pull the steering column upwards.
   Move the steering column to one side.

13. Remove the glove compartment.
   Snap the hinge pins out of the hinges.

14. Remove the left‐hand lower crash padding‐facia (one clip).

15. Remove the left‐hand lower crash padding‐facia (five screws).
   Disconnect the multiplugs.
16. Remove the passenger side airbag (refer to Operation Number 40 701 0).

17. Remove the passenger side airbag mounting bracket.
1. Remove the two retaining bolts.
2. Remove the four retaining screws.
3. Remove the passenger side airbag mounting bracket.
18. Remove the light switch (refer to Operation Number 33 514 0).

19. Remove the crash padding‐facia vent.
   Carefully lever out.

20. Detach the crash padding‐facia (four screws).

21. Detach the crash padding‐facia (two bolts).

22. Detach the crash padding‐facia (two bolts).

23. Detach the crash padding‐facia (one screw).

24. Remove the engine compartment upper partition.

25. Remove the engine compartment noise reduction panel (three screws).

26. Remove the alarm horn.
1. Disconnect the alarm horn multiplug.
2. Remove the alarm horn (two nuts).

27. Remove the crash padding‐facia retaining stud.

28. Remove the pollen filter.
1. Pull the pollen filter forwards.
2. Slide the pollen filter sideways.

29. Remove the pollen filter (Continued).
   Slide the pollen filter out.

30. Detach the pollen filter housing (one nut).

31. Remove the crash padding‐facia retaining bolt.
1. Remove the two nuts and move the pollen filter housing to one side.
2. Remove the crash padding‐facia retaining bolt behind the housing.

32. Detach the wiring harness from the crash padding‐facia clip.

33. Disconnect the tweeter multiplugs.
1. Detach the wiring harness from the crash padding‐facia clip.
2. Disconnect the tweeter multiplugs.
34. Remove the crash padding‐facia.
Install
35. Refit the components in the reverse order.
