Granada L4-140 2.3L VIN A 2-bbl (1982)
Oil Pan: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove fan shroud. If equipped with electric fan, remove fan and shroud as an assembly.
3.
On except 1982 models, drain cooling system, then disconnect upper and lower hoses from radiator.
4.
On all models, raise and support vehicle.
5.
Drain engine oil, then remove right and left engine mount nuts and bolts or washers.
6.
Raise engine as far as possible using a suitable jack with a block of wood positioned between jack and engine. Install wood blocks between mounts
and chassis brackets or No. 2 crossmember pedestals, then remove jack.
7.
Remove shake brace, then the sway bar attaching bolts and lower the sway bar.
8.
Remove starter motor.
9.
Remove steering gear attaching bolts and lower the gear.
10.
Remove oil pan attaching bolts and the oil pan. The number four piston must be in the up position to allow clearance between crankshaft
and rear of oil pan for oil pan removal.
11.
Reverse procedure to install.
